CHARCOAL MASK FAQ

Q: What is the difference between the Phosphorescence Mask and the Charcoal Mask?

A: Texture is the biggest difference between the two! The Phosphorescence Mask is thinner and can easily be layered under other products (like The Balm when double masking). The Phosphorescence is also great to use if you use any skincare gadgets, like a gua sha, jade roller, or any other fun tool! The Charcoal Mask is a more traditional, thick and creamy mask consistency. Neither mask will dry hard, and both will help illuminate skin to reveal your natural glow.

Q: Where can you use the Charcoal Mask?

A: Pretty much everywhere! Use it on your face, neck, chest, underarms, back, feet, hands, thighs, etc. Apply to clean skin, and let the mask restore calm to congested areas.

Q: What are the hero ingredients? What does charcoal do for skin?

A: Charcoal and blue tansyCharcoal is unparalleled in its ability to clean out pores and gently exfoliate without disturbing the underlying structures of your skin. Charcoal won't strip your skin of its natural oils, so you aren't left with that tight, dehydrated feeling you experience with some masks. Blue tansy hydrates, plumps, and reduces the appearance of irritation. It is truly a superhero for calming redness.

Q: Is the Charcoal Mask safe to use if you have acne or rosacea?

A: Absolutely! Rachel has Lupus (and incredibly sensitized skin) so she formulated the mask for sensitive skin. The mask is safe to use if you're in an active Lupus, rosacea, or acne flareup. The mask not only has a redness reducing effect, but it will also help cool inflamed skin.

Q: Can the Charcoal Mask be used on facial and/or body hair?

A: Definitely. Whether you are using the mask on top of a beard or underarm hair, the mask will not dry hard or clay-like, so there is no worry about hair coming off when the mask is removed. We also recommend soaking a washcloth in warm/hot water (not boiling!) and draping it over the skin where you've applied the mask. Enjoy the warming benefits of the washcloth, then gently wipe or rinse the mask off. This makes for the easiest removal while also pampering the skin.
