Mask FAQ
A: The Phosphorescence Mask is thinner and can easily be layered under other products (like The Balm). The Charcoal Mask is a more traditional, thick and creamy consistency. Neither mask will dry hard, and both will help illuminate skin to reveal your natural glow.
Q: Where can you use the Charcoal Mask?
A: Pretty much everywhere! Use it on your face, neck, chest, underarms, back, feet, hands, thighs, etc. Apply to clean skin, and let the mask restore calm to congested areas.
Q: What are the hero ingredients?
A: Charcoal is highly effective at gently exfoliating without disturbing the underlying structures of your skin. Charcoal won't strip your skin of its natural oils, so you aren't left with that tight, dehydrated feeling you experience with some masks. Blue tansy hydrates, plumps, and reduces the appearance of irritation - efficient at calming redness.
Q: Is the Charcoal Mask safe to use if you have acne or rosacea?
A: Absolutely! Rachel has Lupus (and incredibly sensitized skin) and formulated the mask for sensitive skin. The mask is safe to use if you're in an active flareup. The mask not only has a redness reducing effect, but it will also help cool inflamed skin.
Q: Can the Charcoal Mask be used on body hair?
A: Definitely. The mask will not dry hard or clay-like, so it will not pull at hair when the mask is removed. We also recommend soaking a washcloth in warm water (not boiling!) and draping it over the skin where you've applied the mask. Enjoy the warming benefits of the washcloth, then gently wipe or rinse the mask off. This makes for the easiest removal while also pampering the skin.
